My cutting style

There are many styles of cutting that can be used to create wooden jigsaw puzzles. The style I have chosen to use is based on styles that have been used for 75 years by many puzzle cutters. It is a Traditional style of cutting that incorporates many tricks and artistic aspects, which equates to a beautiful one of a kind work of art. Traditional cut

This style of cutting is based on those used by puzzle cutters for over 75 years. Using paper-thin blades, the puzzle is cut into what seems to be a random pattern of twists and turns. This however is not the case. Each cut is carefully chosen and precisely executed to ensure that the finished puzzle will interlock and hold together. Some of the puzzle cutters "Tricks" that can be incorporated into my Traditional style puzzles are: Figure or silhouette pieces, color-line cutting, irregular edges or sculpted borders. Want a puzzle with pieces shaped like animals? birds? fish?. Just about any item, or familiar object that has a unique shape to it, can be turned into a piece of the puzzle. I have hundreds of small images that I use for figure pieces in my puzzles. Each new one I come up with is added to the file, and the file is continually growing. If I do not already have an image you want, I will design just about anything you can come up with, at no extra charge. Good ones to use are family pets or favorite hobbies. Figure pieces are cut at a rate of 10 per 100 pc puzzle, thats a whopping 10% of the finished piece count! Wow!

Color-line cutting is the act of cutting the puzzle right along different color separations in the picture. This makes for a more challenging puzzle. Alot of puzzle enthusiasts rely on color recognition to fit 2 pieces together. When the pieces are cut apart along the color borders in the design, it severely hampers that particular strategy. Some pictures may not lend themselves well to color-line cutting. Color line cutting is accomplished at No extra charge!

Sculpted borders or Irregular edges make a puzzle a bit more challenging, and the finished puzzle will be a sight to behold. If you are use to dumping out a box of puzzle pieces and immediately shuffling through them to find all the straight edge pieces, then this might leave you a bit baffled. Imagine trying to find the edges in a puzzle with NO straight edge pieces. Besides making a trickier puzzle, sculpted borders and irregular edges turn an ordinary square puzzle into a real work of art, suitable for framing. Can be customized based on your ideas or mine. And again - No extra charge!
